Behind the hymn:
“Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing” is a Christian hymn written by the 18th-century pastor and hymnist Robert Robinson at the age of 22 in 1757. It was first published in a collection compiled by A Collection of Hymns used by the Church of Christ in Angel Alley, Bishopsgate, in 1759. The hymn is known for its compelling melody and profound lyrics which express a desire for divine grace. Its most recognized tune, ‘Nettleton,’ was composed by John Wyeth in 1813. This hymn remains a favorite in Protestant congregations, reflecting themes of redemption and grace.
